About Us
We would like to take this opportunity to share some information about us and our non-profit organization.
My wife Marisa and I (Richard, Rick, or Ricky Flo in the cornhole community), started Bags & Badges a little over a year ago. I have always loved playing the game and the sport itself has grown tremendously over the past year. We also love helping others, so we came up with the idea to accomplish both goals and Bags & Badges was born. We are a law enforcement owned 501(c)3 non-profit organization that hosts charity cornhole tournaments to raise funds primarily for first responders and military families in need. This can be due to a death in the family or any other catastrophic incident where monetary assistance is needed. My wife and I have both been members of law enforcement for over 20 years and are still currently active. In that time, we have seen many families suffer hardships where their insurance or other benefits did not fully cover all costs needed. Often times friends and family will create go fund me accounts or other non-personal means of raising money that are extremely helpful, but by hosting these charity cornhole events we add a personal element to the fund raising. Through our tournaments, the families in need can meet and interact with the people supporting them and gain more than just financial support but moral support as well.
Although our initial goal was to help first responders and military personnel, we have now expanded into helping other charities, families, and community members outside of the first responder and military community that assist families in need. Cornhole is a sport that virtually anyone can play so we hope to see you at one of our events!
